The location is above the well-known Reid's Hotel on a hill above Funchal, the main town of Madeira.

Wealth of good restaurants in Funchal and usual town facilities, but the town is not busy at night with a corresponding wealth of night clubs or noisy bars. The resort is quiet. Good views from resort buildings over Funchal but not specifically from my timeshare unit. Funchal is within walking distance, but the resort is also on a main bus route. Regular Taxis are available. Transport is not a problem.

Within walking distance from sea but most beaches round Madeira are rocky. A few sandy beaches are available. Good bus services in Funchal to all parts of the island of Madeira.

Madeira considered good for walking holidays because the island is covered with irrigation channels alongside which you can walk on the flat. The climate is semi-tropical but not humid. In Funchal, some private gardens are available for visits, some specialising in orchid production. Bus trips and escorted tours as standard for a holiday destination. Scenery is mostly mountainous with forests or agricultural terracing. Free access for Village residents to other Pestana resorts.

The airport is 15 to 20 miles away from the resort.

Affiliated to RCI Exchange company but Pestana have their own exchange system dealing with their own resorts in Portugal and S Africa.

The resort is well set up with restaurants, reception area for functions and music, gym, sauna, massage parlour and the pools are outside.
