This spacious de-luxe apartment at Madeira Pestana Promenade Resort which is right on the promenade overlooking the sea. It is approximately 20 minutes' drive from the airport. Transfers can be arranged by Pestana Owner Relations Office at the hotel or you can take a taxi or a bus.

The apartment is on the much sought after 6th floor of the Pestana Promenade Hotel. It is available for the next 8 years. It is one floor above reception and is very close to the lifts and stairs that go down to reception - so not a long way to walk to the lifts as some apartments have.

It has a very large bed in the bedroom and double sofa bed in the living room providing sleeping accommodation for up to 4 people.
The bedroom has a flat screen TV, large en-suite with bath, separate shower, 2 wash hand basins, bidet and toilet. There is another bathroom off the living room with a large shower, wash hand basin, bidet and toilet.

The apartment is larger than the others due to being the first one above the circular reception so has extra space. In total the floor space is 87 square meters.
It is fully air-conditioned and the extra large balcony overlooks the pool area and the sea. There is a table, 4 chairs and sun loungers on the balcony.
The large living area has a double sofa bed and a chaise lounge, flat screen TV, DVD player, wardrobe and dining area with table and 4 chairs. The well equipped kitchen has fridge, oven, hob, dishwasher and everything you could possibly need for self-catering.

There is a large indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and beauty salon and gym.
You can eat in one of the hotel's 3 restaurants and during the day at the lovely pool side bar. Breakfast packages are available if you don't want to cook your own.
There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby where you can sample cuisine from around the world at prices to suit all pockets.

The resort is in easy reach of the centre of Funchal. You can walk, take a local bus or taxi. The busting capital has a picturesque harbour front, large colourful indoor fish and fruit markets, and designer shops, cafes and restaurants in the Old Town.

The very friendly staff in the Owner Relations Office in the hotel can organise lots of different excursions to suit your interests. There are jeep excursions to the centre of the island where you will see the true Madeiran way of life that hasn't changed for centuries. They grow crops on the terraces on the hillsides. There are the famous levada walks where you will see breath-taking scenery and an abundance of flowers and fauna. It is often called the "Garden Island" due to the abundance of colourful plants and flowers.

Week 36 is in September when the weather is very good. You have the option of exchanging your week with RCI if necessary. We have never done this because we love Madeira and its people so much. We are reluctantly having to sell it due to family commitments.
