The Villacana resort is a beautiful, Gold Crown (RCI) resort, perfectly positioned between exciting Marbella and colourful Estepona on Spain's Costa del Sol. The luxury resort of Peurto Banus is just next door. Flights are into Malaga which is less than one hours drive along the coast. Next to the resort is a wonderful sandy beach and within the pretty courtyards of the resort, laden with stunning bourgainvillea flowers, are private pools large and small.

The resort itself is very pretty, quiet and extremely friendly. It also benefits from squash and tennis courts, a sauna and a Turkish bath. The RCI Gold Crown Award reflects the quality and excellent facilities. There is a poolside restaurant which has regular entertainment and if you want to dine in your apartment there is a useful resort supermarket.

There are lots of varied activities in the area to enjoy including premier golf, horse riding, water sports and of course touring. There is a large selection of restaurants from fine to casual dining and great shopping and interesting markets. Puerto Banus has a vibrant and exclusive harbour with a huge variety of restaurants and bars on the waterfront. We had some good trips into the interesting hilltowns and also to Gibralter which was not too far away.

The timeshare is a great week as it is peak time at the May holiday. The weather is usually excellent and has the advantage of being slightly ahead of the main peak period. The unit comfortably sleeps six with two good size bedrooms and a large bathroom and is on the second floor with a balcony. The view is over the courtyard and private pool and is shown in the attached photograph. The unit is well equipped and the resort also has ample parking.

As the Villacana is part of the renowned RCI Group it is easy to trade your points for other vacations and we have done this several times over the years, especially to the USA. We have stayed in some wonderful resorts up and down the Florida Gulf Coast and this included trips when our children were younger to theme parks. We stayed in some super places including the Hilton resort opposite Seaworld, but we have also stayed in some stunning and quiet beach locations. Other holidays have included elsewhere in Spain and we have been able to allow other members of our family to benefit from membership and take trips of their own.

After 20 happy years and lots of great holidays the only reason we are selling is that we are buying a home in Florida as part of our retirement plan.
