This spacious and comfortable 1 bedroom apartment is in the 5 star Pestana Grand in Madeira. It sleeps four people having a large double bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area.

The bedroom has an en-suite shower room while there is a larger bathroom, with bath and shower off the entrance hall. Two bathrooms are very useful even for two people.

There is plenty of storage, the bedroom has a large wardrobe while there is a further wardrobe in the entrance hall with chests of drawers in both the bedroom and living area.

The kitchenette is well equipped including fridge, microwave, electric stove, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and the necessary china and cutlery. Adjacent to the kitchenette is the dining area with round table and four chairs.

The bedroom and living room both have sliding doors opening onto the balcony. The balcony is quite large and has a dining table and four chairs and sun loungers, and is a pleasant place to take in the view while having a drink or a meal. The view to the left includes local botanical gardens while to the right is the main resort pool with, in each case, the cliffs and sea beyond. Below and slightly to the left, the indoor/outdoor pool can be seen. The size and orientation of the balcony means that for most of the day both sun and shade are available.

There is a very wide coastal promenade along the cliff top which is accessed from the Grand's gardens by a key card. This promenade goes past the lido on its way to Funchal.

Near the Grand are two supermarkets. One is in the Forum shopping centre. The Forum also has a cinema and numerous high quality ladies and men fashion and other stores as well as a number of places to eat. Between the Grand and the Forum are several excellent restaurants including the Real Canoa which serves a number of local dishes.

The resort provides a courtesy bus which guests can take to and from Funchal.
