Our unit is at Westgate Vacation Villas, Kissimmee, Florida, USA. We were impressed by the luxury and spaciousness of the apartment; it's light and airy and there are good facilities provided in the kitchen and living area. The resort is nicely laid out, with a boating lake and parkland and a pool close to the unit.

Westgate itself is located about 30 minutes by car from Orlando International Airport which is so convenient and easy after a transatlantic flight. There are plenty of restaurants nearby for evening meals and wonderful breakfast buffets and shopping is easy for self catering. It is also about ten minutes from the Disney Resorts which is great for the kids, and we had a super time going to four Disney parks. We also went to Cape Canaveral which is about 1hr 10 minutes away. This was fascinating for all of us (our children were 11 and 9 years old at the time). It would be possible to get across to the west side of Florida (Tampa) in about the same time. Daytona Beach is a bit further than Cape Canaveral, perhaps 1h 20 minutes, and the historic parts of that east coast slightly further but looks like a day trip still. Miami and the Everglades are more like 3 hours away.

We tended to swap our week using Interval International for resorts in UK and Spain. We had holidays in Northumbria (golf, Hadrians Wall and Newcastle) at Slalely Hall, the Midlands of England (golf and sailing), Loch Lomond (golf and walking, kayaking), Ballater (skiing would have been possible as we went in January) and in Spain Malaga (golf and exploring Andalusia).

Why are we selling? After writing the above I'm not sure! Our children are grown up and our holiday patterns have changed is really the main answer; our lives have become more complicated and we need to simplify things. Would I go back to Westgate even after selling? Yes.
