Malta is a small archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, 90 kilometres south of Sicily. It has a very rich culture and history. The temples on the island of Gozo - pre-dating the pyramids and Stonehenge are truly impressive. The influence of Malta's many invaders - Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, the French and particularly the Knights of St John - can be felt to this day. Its capital, Valletta, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The weather is hot and sunny in summer and very mild and sunny in winter, when shorts and T-shirts are still very much the order of the day.

The studio is situated on the 10th floor, sleeps two and is available in August, weeks 31,32,33,34. (Each week starting and finishing on a Friday) It forms part of the 5 star Fortina Spa Hotel in Sliema, a short bus ride - or if preferred a ferry crossing - to the capital Valletta. It has all the comforts expected from a 5 star hotel: a king-size bed - which the hotel would convert to twin beds, if required - 24 hour room service, air conditioning, TV, coffee/tea making facilities and a luxurious bathroom. A large balcony, with Jacuzzi and sun loungers, overlooking a tropical garden with the Mediterranean in the background, compliments the room.

Besides the excellent buffet style "Valletta" restaurant and the Italian restaurant, both of which are complimentary, the Fortina Spa Resort also offers a choice of Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Mediterranean cuisines at a small extra cost.

The Fortina Spa Resort boasts two indoor swimming pools, two outdoor swimming pools (one with pool bar), a therapeutic pool and a well equipped gym. A wide choice of health and beauty treatments is also on offer.

A short level walk along the promenade takes you to Sliema town centre, whilst "The Point" Malta's newest and largest Shopping Mall, is but 100 yards away.

The Fortina Spa Resort is a 20 minute drive from the airport. There is also a regular bus service from the airport to Valletta and Sliema.

Reception at the Fortina Spa Resort is open 24/7. Car parking facilities are adjacent to the hotel but are not included in the price.
The staff are invariably courteous and helpful.

Time Share exchanges can be arranged through "The World Wide Time Share Exchange", RCI or similar organisations.

My husband and I bought the Time Share in 2009 to get away from the English winters for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, my husband has since died and, being of an advanced age , I no longer relish travelling abroad on my own. In spite of the fond memories of our holidays in Malta I have therefore reluctantly decided to sell my Time Share.
