Welcome to the Club Casablanca, a RCI Gold Crown resort situated in the town of Puerto De La Cruz, in the north of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.

The resort is just a few minutes walk from the beach, the lively Fishing harbour in the old part of town and the colourful Plaza De Charcoal with many restaurants, bars and live entertainment. The largo Martianez is along the promenade, a group of seawater pools, sun bathing areas bars and cafes. An ideal way to spend a lazy day.

The popular Loro Parque is only a 10 minute drive along the coast, or ride there on the yellow train that goes through the town. A great day out especially for families and you my even get wet watching the seals. Further inland is Teide, and is well worth the hour drive to the cable car. The scenery changes constantly and you may even get to drive through the low cloud that often drifts down.

Although the nearest airport is only half an hour away at Los Rodeos the more popular airport used Reina Sofia is about an hour and fifteen minutes away on the south coast. For getting around the island, the local bus service Titsa is excellent. It covers most of the Island and is not expensive. If you prefer to have a car then there are plenty of hire companies at the airport and there is also a car rental next to the Club Casablanca. Parking isn't a problem as there is underground parking, you have an assigned space.

The resort has plenty to do if you want to. The swimming pool is always a good choice with plenty of sun beds to laze on, lawn bowls, evening entertainment, a well stocked library. There is a welcoming bar that serves snacks and will often have the latest sporting event showing. If you fancy tennis then there are two courts at the hotel next door which are available for Casablanca guests and there is a gym by block B if you feel energetic.

The unit is a one bed penthouse on the 7th floor - accessible by stairs and a lift. It is in the points system. It sleeps a Max of 4, 1 bathroom, a full well equipped kitchen, sofa bed, TV with multi country channels, dining area. The bedroom is spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and the option of a secure safe. All fixtures, fittings and equipment are well maintained and of a high standard. From the double doors in the lounge there is a long balcony overlooking the pool with a small table and chairs. Round the left of the balcony is a terrace with sun beds and a purpose built BBQ and a fabulous sea view, perfect for those warm evenings with a glass of wine. Overall the unit is furnished to a high standard, housekeeping comes in on most days and the resort itself is very friendly with good facilities and well maintained.

I have had many happy weeks here and good exchanges within the RCI points system over the years. Now I have had the opportunity and bought a house in Spain. I hope someone out there reads this and decides to start their own happy weeks there.
