Kilconquhar Castle Estate in Fife is located 1 1/2 miles from the charming harbour town of Elie which is one of five harbour towns within 9 miles. The estate is 15 minutes from St Andrews, 1 hour from Edinburgh and within easy reach of many wonderful beaches. All of the harbour's indicated above are steeped in history with Crail Granted Royal Burgh status in 1310 by King Robert the Bruce. Ferries sail from Anstuther harbour to the Isle of May bird sanctuary, which can have a quarter of a million nesting birds. Interesting cycle routes whether on road or through forest are available for this area of Fife together with the Fife Coastal Path route for walkers, which runs from the Forth Estuary to the Tay Estuary.

There are also 4 nature reserves within a few miles together with St Andrews Aquarium and Scotland's
Secret Bunker only 7 miles away. Lots of great golf courses are in this vicinity and there are theatres at St Andrews & Kirkcaldy. Highland Games take place throughout the summer with 4 events nearby in June and St Monans Sea Queen Day (The oldest gala day in the East Neuk of Fife) also in June.
