The Royal Savoy Resort is in Funchal, capital city of Madeira and is affiliated to Interval International. The journey from the airport takes about 25 minutes by taxi. The centre of Funchal is only a 10 to 15 minute walk from the resort. Funchal is an attractive, clean and tidy city with shops restaurants and many points of interest for tourists. Madeira has many attractions but is particularly known for its tropical gardens and Levada Walks all within easy reach of the resort. The Royal Savoy Club arranges island trips for small groups at sensible starting and finishing times.

This is an air conditioned studio apartment accommodating up to four people. It is in week 20 which is towards the end of May, a lovely time to visit Madeira. It has a lounge/diner/kitchenette area with sofa bed, king-size bedroom area and separate bathroom with walk in power shower and bath. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with hob, microwave oven and dishwasher. The unit has a private balcony with views overlooking the pool area and out to the sea. It is on the first floor and is well serviced by lifts. There is also a conveniently situated staircase leading down to the ground floor to access pool, bar and restaurant areas.

The Resort has two outdoor and one indoor pool, gym, beauty salon and hairdresser. There is a main restaurant, pool restaurant and a large bar lounge where entertainment is provided most evenings. There are also many excellent, good value local restaurants within easy walking distance. There is car parking available at the Resort should you choose to hire a car.

We have really enjoyed our many stays at the Royal Savoy but are finding it more difficult to travel abroad now and thus have exchanged through Interval International twice in the last three years for UK resorts. Therefore with much regret we have decided that now is the time to sell on our week.
