This is a large and spacious room on the 17th floor, which is the top floor of the Fortina Spa Vacation Resort. The location offers a panoramic view of the city of Valletta from the living room, and views along the coast from the bathroom.

The living room is separated from the bedroom by a sliding partition, and has a balcony overlooking Valletta. The room is fully air conditioned, with television and DVD player, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and free WI-FI. The bedroom has a huge king size bed, large wardrobes and a safe for storing valuables. The balcony is joined to a second, larger balcony with hot tub Jacuzzi, which is also accessible from the bathroom.

The bathroom itself is well equipped, with twin sinks, toilet and bidet, spa bath and walk in shower. There is also a Dermalife machine, which is unique to the Fortina. This device, which resembles a sunbed offers a very relaxing, detoxifying steam bath. Various oils and bath salts are also included as well as full operating instructions, and a professional therapist can be booked to visit the room to provide instruction and advice on use of the spa equipment.

Meals are also included at six restaurants on half board, mostly on a fixed menu which changes throughout the week, although this can be upgraded to half board ala carte. The standard of food here is excellent and booking is essential at most of the restaurants. No booking is required at the Vallette, which is a very lavish self-service buffet, serving an impressive choice of Maltese and British style food.

There is also one free entry during the week to the Spa Santé, at the heart of the extensive spa facilities at the Fortina. Facilities in the Spa Santé include whirl pool, steam room, sauna, foot massage basins, aqua meditation, fun showers, relaxation lounges and ice grotto. Daily free entry to the thalassotherapy pool is also included, booked at the spa reception.

Week41 falls in the second week of October, with temperatures typically in the mid to high 20's Celsius. There are plenty of shops nearby, with a modern indoor shopping mall behind the Fortina and with the town centre just a ten minute walk away, the location is ideal for some of the best shopping in Malta. There are also numerous day cruises and open top bus tours and excursions available, and with frequent public transport links and a direct ferry to Valletta, Sliema is the perfect base for exploring the Maltese islands.

This is our third timeshare at the Fortina over the last ten years. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and always look forward to using our week, but with changing interests and lifestyle which will increasingly come in to conflict with using our week, we have reluctantly decided to sell.
