The chalet-style Residence Panorama Villars has a nice setting in the traditional mountain village of Villars-sur-ollon of southwest Switzerland. It makes for a great holiday close to Geneva or indeed as a base for skiing Villars nearby, with comfy, well fitted rooms that boast a balcony and easy access to the slopes and golfing.

Previous visitors have mentioned the large size of the apartments and the stunning views and tranquillity of this place. There are 70 units at Residence Panorama Villars, with standard singles and doubles available, along with studios and family apartments; the latter being able to accommodate four adults.

These timeshare units are well-appointed, with a seating and dining area, kitchenette and having all requisite fixtures and fittings. Guests even have a complimentary daily newspaper along with WiFi internet and free public parking. This is a fairly large resort and has good recreational facilities for après-ski or post-hike, including an indoor swimming pool and a sauna.

There is also a relaxing spa with steam bath and even a bowling alley and a ski school. Lockers are provided during ski season, too, for storage of skis, snowboards and equipment. The ski lifts and cable car are within walking distance of Residence Panorama, as are a number of restaurants and bars for semi-lively après-ski at independent places and in some of the top hotels.

In addition, at other times of the year, where lifts remain open, you can go on day hikes or rent a mountain bike from Residence Panorama Villars and hit the hills. Also, Golf Club Villars is a few minutes from Villars-sur-ollon by car. Visitors mainly come to this quality village for the skiing, however, and it is easily accessible from Geneva, while the slopes are at moderate altitude.

This family friendly village also plays host to various snow- and ski-centric festivals in season. It is ideal for those with kids, with lots of extras like ice skating, a cinema and bowling. Also nearby are the popular Gryon, which is linked to Villars, and nearby small village of Les Posses. You can get to these intriguing destinations by road or rail.

To get to Villars-sur-ollon and Residence Panorama Villars, trains come in from nearby Bex-Villar-Bretaye and buses from Geneva (via Aigle). You can also easily rent a car at Geneva International Airport and make the drive to Villars-sur-ollon in about 90 minutes.
