This lovely studio apartment is beautifully appointed with all the amenities to ensure you have a wonderful and relaxing holiday, including daily maid service. The apartment will sleep four: two in the sleeping area with its super-king size bed - this can be separated into two generous size singles if required, and two on the pull-out sofa bed in the living area (which the maid will make up for you). There is one bathroom, tiled throughout and with all the modern facilities you would expect, including bath, shower, basin, bidet and toilet - and plenty of fluffy towels! The kitchenette contains high quality cooking utensils and equipment, a generous selection of crockery, glasses and cutlery and includes a dishwasher. In the living area there is a flat screen TV (although my photo shows the old-style one!) and a DVD player, and there is free Wi-Fi in the apartment as well as in the public areas. This studio apartment is on the first floor with a spacious balcony, sheltered by side walls, overlooking the stunning pool area in its lush tropical setting. The front of the balcony has railings above a low wall, providing an uninterrupted view of the sea beyond. Although there is easy stair access to the ground floor, there are lifts that serve all floors.

There is an excellent restaurant on site, the Armada, serving both local and international food, and great buffet breakfasts. The Neptunus Bar in the pool area serves drinks and lunchtime snacks to be enjoyed outside. The Piano Bar is a delightful venue for evening drinks and live music.

The Royal Savoy Resort truly lives up to its 5-star rating with its superior, air-conditioned apartments, spacious and elegant public areas and extensive tropical gardens. Every Tuesday the resort organizes a coffee morning and an evening cocktail party for Resort members, providing an opportunity to meet other owners and to learn more about the island and interesting places to visit. Just for the fun of it, consider taking the cable car up to Monte and returning to Funchal on the famous sled ride down the steep roads into the town!

Interval International rates the Royal Savoy as a 'Premier Resort' and vacation exchanges can be made through this company's exchange programme. This apartment is available in week 37 i.e. mid-September, when the climate is perfect for walking along the levada trails, sightseeing and swimming. Funchal town centre is within easy walking distance and there is a very enjoyable walk along the sea front to the vibrancy and charm of the Old Town. The resort is approximately 20 minutes from the airport by car.

This apartment is available in the 'odd' number years, including 2015, and the fixed week ends at the end of 2032. The only reason we are selling this apartment that we have so enjoyed is due to a change in personal circumstances.
