One of the most inviting things about Tregenna is its attachment to a dynamic town as well as extensive natural resources. This is not just an isolated resort. The immediate area offers a rich variety of things to do and see.

Tregenna is a 10 minute walk above the town of St Ives on the north coast of Cornwall. St Ives has long been a mecca for artists and craftspeople. As well as many smaller galleries and workshops to visit, there is the prestigious Tate St Ives. There is also the museum and gardens of sculptor Barbara Hepworth.

St Ives has a variety of traditional and innovative restaurants. It also has a cinema and a number of music venues. The sandy beach is large and on the other side of the town is a surfing area. The harbour itself is lively and boats can be hired for personal use or for short rides to check out the coastline, seals or go fishing. There are also many areas to sit, relax, read and look out over the water.

The nearest airport is St Mawgan, Newquay: 26 miles away. Regular trains are an easy way to get from other parts of the country into the town.

A few kilometres west of St Ives, there is the opportunity to walk along the rugged but accessible and spectacular coastline of Cornwall. In the other direction, there are more scenic, uncrowded areas to explore.

It is easy to get by car to the south coast of Cornwall via places such as Penzance. A couple of hours away is the unique, extensive Eden Project as well as experiences such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
