This 4th floor studio occupies a prime position with southerly views of the sea and coast along to Funchal city. The Pestana Palms is one of the smaller quieter hotels on the western outskirts of Funchal, being only a 20 minute (2 km) walk past the famous Reid's hotel to the harbour and main promenade. It is built right on the ocean front and has received numerous awards for resort design and friendly service. It sits at the Lido end of the new promenade which stretches west for over a mile along the sea front where there are numerous cafes and restaurants, and the start of a coastal walk to the fishing village of Camara de Lobos. Madeira enjoys an all year round warm (sub-tropical) climate and has lovely warm evenings.

There is an excellent supermarket opposite the hotel, as well as numerous shops and cafes, and a taxi rank. There is a frequent bus service to the city centre where buses run to all other locations on the island. The Pestana Vacation Club and on-site Owners' team offer a reduced cost taxi service from and to the airport, 20 minutes away, as well as giving full support for all holiday excursions and activities. There is an Owners' computer room, as well as hotel-wide Wi-Fi.

The Palms Hotel is a small resort with a 'well loved' feel to it and long term loyal clientele and staff who have a great affection for it. In the centre of the small tropical garden is the old 'quinta' manor house, once owned by the Pestana family, and now a stately club-house for the exclusive use of hotel guests. It houses a bistro, bar, games room, TV lounge, library and rooms to relax and socialise, with live music in the evening. Afternoon tea is served in the garden. There is a small secure outdoor car park. The attractive round hotel tower built on the rocks houses the main buffet restaurant, with its stunning all-round sea views, the hotel guest rooms, and at its base by stairs or lift the health club, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, pool-side restaurant and entrance to the sea-front sun deck with its fresh water pool which is built into the rocks. A few steps lead down to the sea for safe swimming, snorkeling and diving.

The main accommodation houses most of the 66 studio apartments, all with sun balconies, facing south to the sea. This 4th floor studio apartment, accessed by stairs or lift, is in a prime position looking out across the tropical cliff top garden and having south-facing views of the sea and coast. The balcony, through sliding doors, is not overlooked and has two chairs, two loungers and a table where one can take breakfast or lunch in the sun. There is a small kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. The apartment has twin beds and a dressing table, wardrobe with a safe, dining table and chairs, as well as easy chairs and coffee table, plus a modern flat screen TV. There is a shower in the bathroom.

The week usually coincides with the annual firework and music festival. This year's low maintenance cost (limited to national inflation) has been paid and the studio is available this year. Pestana allow the week to be banked, providing an opportunity to use their other resort hotels worldwide, giving two weeks elsewhere when out of peak (red) season. Pestana is affiliated to RCI. All Palms leases expire at the end of 2022.
