We have been coming home to The Royal Savoy for over ten years, we regard it as our 2nd home during our annual visit there.

A few weeks before our annual arrival, we receive an e-mail from the membership team requesting our time of arrival, whom will arrange our transport from the airport to The Royal Savoy (approximately 15 minutes), any shopping we require for our studio, any trips including levada walks, Nuns Valley and golf outings which we would like to be booked in advance.

When we arrive the doorman Steven (amongst others) will take of your suitcases to your room and you feel totally relaxed, ready for 7 days of luxury and enjoyment.

Funchal centre is within 10 minutes of walking, where there is a Cathedral, shops, bars ,museums, gardens, markets (including the famous flower markets) amongst many other attractions. However there are many other well worth visits outside Funchal including the Plateau, taxi hire for a day to go round the island is well recommended.

Should you decide to stay on the resort and relax, there are three pools to choose from (salt water, fresh water or indoor) a children's splash pool, Jacuzzi, health centre with beauty salon, solarium, Gym, Library, restaurants, piano bar are amongst some of the many five star facilities available for your you to use. They also have various water sports on selected days. The local Madeira dancing is performed on selective nights, which is well recommended.

The studio has an ocean facing balcony which has chairs, table and a sun lounger to fall a sleep in, the sun shines on the balcony until around 16.30. The view still amazes me each year we come!

The bathroom holds a separate shower, bath, bidet, toilet and double sink. A lovely lady cleans the studio each day and comes back just before dinner to fold back the sheets and leave some chocolates each night. Bathrobes and slippers are provided.

Room services including laundry cleaning is available should you wish to use them.

We really enjoy every minute of the day when we visit and have made may friends in The Royal Savoy whom we will stay in touch with.
