Resort is set within the beautiful district of Planates, Rethymnon on the island of Crete. Leoniki Residence is set in a good location, with easy access to the old town of Rethymnon, there are plenty of bars and local shops and restaurants nearby.

The nearest airports are Heraklion Airport which is 60 km away from the resort and Chania Airport which is 76 miles. Transfers from the airport to the resort are easily booked ensuring a smooth start to your holiday. On arrival to the resort staff are on hand to welcome you, and escort you to your accommodation. The resort is beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean walking around is very peaceful, the noise levels kept to a minimum so disturbances to residents do not occur. Ambient lighting throughout the resort enhance the shrubs, trees and floral displays.

The unit is itself is a 1 bedroom unit, sleeping 4 people, sofa bed doubles as extra sleeping. It has a partial kitchen and is suitable for cooking a family meal, although there are plenty of bars and restaurants in and around the resort which offer excellent value. As we hired a car parking for residents is not a problem within the resort. The furnishings are well maintained with maid service every day except Sunday. Clean towels and linen are also changed through your stay. The resort has a wellness centre with swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam bath and exercise equipment. For those who enjoy to de-stress, massage, body wrap and aromatherapy treatments are available throughout the day. My husband and I both enjoyed a joint massage and spa treatments. When we brought our two children who were in the mid teens they were able to go scuba diving with local instructors who were PADI approved and put us at ease as they gave an induction in the resort pool for us before the lesson was actually in the sea nearby, our kids loved it.

The resort has themed evenings such as Greek barbeque and traditional dancing, Synchro stars (water ballet show), belly dancing and a fashion show to display the how traditional and modern fashion can be made, you can purchase or order from the displays.

For the more active visitors the Samarian Gorge is a fabulous hikers trip. This can be done as an excursion or independently. There are many other trips on offer through the reception. As this week has good exchange value, in July, this would be great for families who have constraints due to school holidays, enabling a good exchange value to other resorts, for people who have more flexibility to travel at their choosing the exchange of having a red season unit gets you good exchange, we have used this to exchange for other holiday resorts his for holidays in Tenerife.
