People take trips from the harbour everyday for whale watching, sailing on the Santa Maria and visiting other islands. The climate is wonderfully mild.

The Miramar resort is one of the best places to holiday in Madeira, with its striking architecture and incredible subtropical gardens. The attractions of Funchal are an easy stroll or bus ride away to the east, with outdoor sea pools and The Forum to the west. Frequent buses to most of the island's attractions run from right outside the hotel. There is a fantastic selection of restaurants within a few minute's walk of the apartment and a group of small shops below the complex provide for everyday needs. Local sight-seeing tours or levada walking groups pick up direct from the complex. On site knowledgeable guest service managers can advise as necessary.

It is a peaceful complex with three pools (two outdoor and one indoor) and two jacuzzis. Tucked away are card rooms, table tennis, children's areas etc.

This apartment is located on the 6th floor, accessed by lifts or stairs. It is a one bedroom unit that sleeps 4 with a balcony, kitchenette and bathroom plus TV and air conditioning. There is direct access to the upper pool area, fitness centre and restaurants. There is a daily cleaning service. The balcony overlooks the lower pool, quinta, palm trees and sea.

It is available during the last two weeks of August. The lease ends in 2030. It is an RCI Gold Crown resort, part of the Pestana hotel group.

The hotel is just 20 kilometres from the airport, by car, taxi or bus. National and economy airlines provide flights from all over the UK. There is car parking on site.
