Set in 65 acres of conservation parkland, Barnsdale Hall Hotel is situated on the Northern Shore of Rutland Water Reservoir and Nature Reserve with breathtaking views. An ideal location for leisure pastimes with a rich and varied range of activities such as sailing, windsurfing, cycling, running or just stroll through the beautiful countryside on well prepared paths and tracks. Within the complex there are extensive spa facilities, swimming pool, sauna and steam room, fully equipped gymnasium, squash and tennis courts and many other leisure and sporting facilities making it a haven in which to either retreat, relax and unwind or be a little more active, the choice is yours. Within ten miles of the complex are a number of very challenging golf courses, all of which give "two for one" offers during the weekday period.

We live in Stamford, 8 miles from Barnsdale Hall Hotel and have owned our timeshare since 1996. The primary reason for purchase was the membership of Barnsdale Country Club which came with the purchase and gives us full access to the facilities on the complex and owner discounts. We have utilised these facilities over the years very extensively with our two children. This full access comes with the purchase. We have had a number of excellent exchanges, particularly in the USA and have never found that we could not exchange to the locations we wanted.

The Unit is a ground floor one bedroom sleeps 4 people apartment with one double bedroom, bathroom and separate WC with open plan lounge/diner/kitchen. There is a sofa bed in the lounge and opens onto an outside terrace with table and chairs.
There is also an excellent restaurant on site with discount for owners but there is also a large variety of restaurants within a 10 mile radius.

The Lodge is 8 miles from the historic market town of Stamford, the home of Burghley House where the famous horse trials take place and the location for many films and tv series such as Middlemarch, The Da Vinci Code, Pride and Prejudice and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. There is access to the Elizabethan architectural styled Burghley House throughout the year with the history stretching from 1558 to the present day. There are guided tours or self lead tours that utilise pre-recorded descriptive guides on electronic media. Five miles to the west is the great hall of the Norman Oakham Castle, which dates back to 1190, and All Saints Church built in the 14th Century. London is 1 hour 20 min away by train or car and Edinburgh could be reached in 5 hours by train also.

Barnsdale Hall hotel is 40 miles from Nottingham Airport, 90 miles from Stanstead and 100 from London Heathrow airport. There are extensive road and rail links to the complex from all three with a direct rail link from Stanstead to Oakham.
