Funchal, Madeira, an island off the Portuguese coast, enjoys an average temperature around 70 all year. The flowers are some of the most wonderful in the World, with orchids growing wild along the Lavada walks. Planned trips around the island to see its many features are easily arranged within the hotel. Overlooking the sea, with unrestricted views out to sea and across the bay, the apartment is walking distance from the centre of the town and stones throw from wonderful restaurants. There are swimming pools - inside as well as separate fresh water and sea water pools, two restaurants, cocktail and pool bars; a fully equipped gym rounds off the facilities. The development has been awarded 2nd place in the Daily Telegraph World Wide Resort Hotels List.

The apartment has two large bedrooms, both en suite, a fully equipped modern kitchen catering for six including dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, cooker, coffee percolator and all necessary utensils. The whole apartment is air conditioned. There are two separate entrances to the apartment offering a total independent option with a connecting door that can be used to separate the two facilities. There is parking within the grounds or in an underground car park. The very large lounge, which also has a double sofa bed, benefits from Hi-Fi, television with international stations and surrounds sound. The bedrooms also have dressing rooms, showers, baths, and all luxury facilities. There is a third bathroom as well. The balcony, overlooking the sea and with facilities to sun bathe and entertain, runs the length of the apartment and serves both bedrooms and the lounge. Week 19 is the second week of May, arguably the best month of the Madeira year. The apartment is also fully serviced twice a day and this is included. The same staff has been evident in the hotel for the last 10 years of our tenure, and that accounts for the friendly atmosphere that pervades this 5 star resort hotel with its luxury apartments.
