We have owned this apartment since 2004 but had a studio one before in the Grand since it was built.

The apartment has one ensuite bedroom with another bathroom for the lounge area which has a sofa bed and a kitchenette. It is on the 5th floor and overlooks part of the sea and part of the land and is facing West. There are lifts to all floors and porters to help with luggage. The apartment is air conditioned and there is a double balcony.

The Pestana Grand is a 5 star hotel with 3 restaurants, 1 indoor and 2 outdoor pools and other facilities. There is a shopping mall 5 minutes walk away with supermarket, shops and restaurants as well as other local restaurants around the hotel. The hotel has a courtesy bus into Funchal and also there is a frequent local bus service. The centre of Funchal is approximately 3 miles away and can be walked along part of the coastal path. Camara do Lobos is 3 to 4 miles in the opposite direction and is where Churchill spent his time painting and can also be walked to along the coastal path next to the sea.

Pestana resorts are of a high quality and are kept well maintained at all times. Flight time from the UK is approximately 4 hours and is served by many regional airports and budget airlines.

The week is 15 which is around Easter time but does not always include Easter.

We are selling the property due to difficulties with flying, we are now looking to do only cruises that start and finish at a UK port.
