The lodge is a couple of minutes drive, or a 15 minute walk through the woods to the hotel where there is a restaurant, bistro and pool, gym and beauty parlour. The resort is opposite the Belton House and park and is a 5 minute drive from Grantham and the nearest Asda supermarket. There are plenty of interesting places to eat out and it is a an hour's drive to the coast at Skegness, and about the same distance to the Cathedral City of Lincoln in one direction and south to the ancient town of Stamford not far from Burghley House.

Week 19, the second week in May has proved over the years to be consistently pleasant especially as all the chestnut trees are in flower. One attraction of course are the golf courses, but for those who do not play, country walks and pleasant drives through rural villages and to nature reserves are a must.
