The Carrick is a 5 star resort located a few miles north of De Vere's sister timeshare resort at the Cameron House estate located at the southern end of Loch Lomond. The owner of this week will enjoy week 10 (second week in March) every year, or be able to exchange it through membership of RCI or Interval International. Owner benefits include discounted dining, bar purchases and green fees for golf.

This triple glazed accommodation on the top floor is one of 12 apartments (4 on each floor) in the Mansion House and is fully accessible by lift or stairs. With 2 luxurious en-suite bedrooms and sleeping 6 people, it is ideal for people of all ages. It is located close to the leisure centre which provides the focus for the resort; here you will find the Golf Reception and Shop, Claret Jug Restaurant and Bar and a world class Spa. The walking distance is small and on level ground.

On one floor the apartment provides:
• Entrance Hall with storage cupboard.
• Spacious lounge and dining area overlooking the 16th green, Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond, with large kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard with built in oven and microwave, hob with overhead extractor, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and drier. If you want to dine in all week, this kitchen will more than match up to your requirements. The kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery and glass are all of a high quality consistent with the 5 star standards of this resort. There is a double leather studio couch, and doors to a balcony.
• Master king-size bedroom with en suite containing separate shower, bath, WC and washbasin.
• Second twin bedroom with ensuite containing a large shower, WC and washbasin.
• Family bathroom with WC and handbasin.

The internal design and colour scheme are contemporary providing a calm and relaxing ambience. The furniture, fittings and soft furnishings are of a very high quality and the housekeeping standards provided by the resort are excellent. There are many car parking spaces outside the lodge, and there are dedicated golf storage lockers (two for each apartment) in a locker room adjacent to the porticoed front door. The lounge has a Bang and Olufsen TV/DVD player, and each bedroom has TV and radio. Wifi Internet access is available and there is a Bose docking station for i-pods and phones.

Beyond the resort, there is a range of dining out options. The luxurious Cameron House Hotel is at the heart of the Cameron House estate and a courtesy taxi service operates between the Carrick and Cameron House. Without getting into your car, owners can therefore access Cameron House restaurants and its other facilities. Cameron House has a fantastic horse shoe shaped bar with a very fine selection of whiskies, cocktails and other drinks and with superb views over Loch Lomond. Coffee, sandwiches and other bar snacks are available here too. There are also two restaurants in the hotel, including Martin Wishart at Cameron House which has a Michelin Star. A short walk away, still on the Cameron House site, but immediately adjacent to the Marina is the Boat House Bar and Restaurant offering seafood from Loch Fyne. With different views over the Loch this provides a more contemporary restaurant and bar setting. The village of Balloch nearby and within walking distance of the hotel provides Chinese, Italian, and Indian options and pubs offering bar meals. Further afield, the choice is endless!
Owners are spoilt for choice with leisure options on site. The leisure club spa has a gym, pool and jacuzzi on the ground floor with a suite of further spa rooms on the 1st floor (sauna, hammam, aroma steam room, experience showers, sanarium, tepidarium, laconium, indoor hydro pool) with outdoor hydro pool on the top floor with views over the Loch towards Ben Lomond. Access to all of these is freely available to owners during the week of their stay. There is also a beauty salon with many dedicated treatment rooms, relaxation area and choice of beauty treatment products.

The gym is well equipped and owners are able to access other facilities at Cameron House during the week of their stay. This includes two further swimming pools (one for children with a water slide), squash courts, a snooker room, beauty salon and 9 hole, Wee Demon, golf course set amongst many of the lodges on this estate.

The Carrick is one of the most prestigious golf courses in Scotland. The Carrick championship golf course is not yet 10 years old, but it is one of the, must play, golf courses on anyone's bucket list! It has been designed to the highest of standards with the most challenging greens, fairways, bunkers and water features made all the more difficult by the stunning views from the course of the Loch, Ben Lomond and the National Park. Owners benefit from discounted golf fees during the week of their stay, and arrangements can be made to play other golf courses in the area if The Carrick proves too challenging.
The resort is within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the surrounding area offers unlimited walking opportunities including the famous West Highland Way, cycling, sailing, fishing and loch cruising. The scenery is varied and there are endless day trip excursions possible, for example exploring the large number of lochs, the coastal areas, Oban, Glencoe, islands (Bute and its stately home of Mount Stewart for example) the Lowlands, Stirling and Edinburgh.

Shorter trips can be taken to Helensburgh (10 minutes) with its National Trust property Hill House (one of only 2 private house commissions that Charles Rennie McIntosh designed), golf course, views of the Clyde, bars and restaurants and national award winning fish and chip shop (not just a variety of fish but scallops too!). Luss is an historic village about 10 minutes North along the Loch shore and used as a TV location. Balloch at the South end of Loch Lomond has a Sea Life Aquarium, Loch Lomond Shores Shopping Mall including a branch of Jenners (House of Fraser group) and visitor centre. For those arriving without the time or opportunity to buy food and other supplies, the resort can organise a welcome pack of provisions by arrangement. There is also a lovely farm shop located immediately opposite the entrance to the resort stocking high quality produce from the local area (meat, cheese, bread, vegetables, beer, wine, spirits etc), everything necessary to get you going, or provide for your week. There is also a newly opened Waitrose in Helensburgh, and other supermarket brands in the vicinity.

Glasgow can be reached by train from Balloch station or by car the journey is 30 minutes to the city centre. T his jewel of a city has something for everyone: dining, culture (eg the Burrell collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Pollock House, House for an Art Lover), theatre, concerts, architecture, shopping (to meet all pockets and aspirations) and is a fun and lively place simply to walk about in.

Travelling to The Carrick is very easy. Glasgow Airport is about 20 minutes away by car and the area is well served by motorway connections to the East and South. By railway, there is a connection between Glasgow and Balloch.

We have owned this week since the resort was first developed and have enjoyed returning every time to the peace and utter calm within the apartment. With advancing age and change in family circumstances we are now selling this week, and our other timeshare week at Cameron House (see separate listing Week 38). A stay here is a luxurious and indulgent experience and leaves you wanting more.
