Cameron HouseWeek 38 (Red), 2 bedrooms sleeps 6 SOLD
Sellers Description*
This unit was fully refurbished in December.
This bungalow lodge is located on the Cameron House estate with the luxurious Cameron House Hotel at its heart providing many of the essential ingredients for an unforgettable holiday in incomparable surroundings. The resort has Gold Crown and 5 star status.
The owner of this week will enjoy week 38 (starts about 3 weeks into September) every year at Cameron House in perpetuity, or be able to exchange it through membership of RCI or Interval International. A purchase before September 2014 will enable the new owner to enjoy their first holiday in September 2014. Owner benefits include discounted dining, bar purchases and green fees for golf.
This triple glazed lodge is one of only 4 detached bungalows on the site overlooking Loch Lomond. It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 6 people and is ideal for people of all ages. It is particularly suited to young children, and older people with more limited mobility. It is located close to the Hotel which provides the focus for many of the leisure activities available to De Vere Resort Owners. Walking distances to the leisure centre, restaurants, bars and other facilities are therefore small and on level ground.
On one floor the lodge provides:
Entrance Hall with storage and cloaks cupboard and drying cabinet for clothes wet from outdoor activities.
Spacious lounge and dining area overlooking Loch Lomond, with large kitchen area. There are 2 pull down single beds contained within a wall fitment.
Master double bedroom with en-suite containing separate shower, Jacuzzi bath, bidet and dual washbasins. The bedroom opens out onto a spacious terraced area with outdoor dining set.
Second twin bedroom with en-suite and cupboard with washer and drier.
Family bathroom with shower, WC, handbasin and sauna.
There are 2 dedicated car parking spaces for the lodge. The lounge has a TV and DVD player, and each bedroom has a TV. Internet access through Wifi is available, and there is a lockable storage cupboard for golf clubs.
The internal design and colour scheme are contemporary providing a calm and relaxing ambience. The furniture, fittings and soft furnishings are of a very high quality and the housekeeping standards provided by the resort are excellent. The kitchen is similarly equipped to a very high standard with built in oven, microwave, hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer. If you want to dine in all week, this kitchen will more than match up to your requirements.
A range of dining out options is provided on the Cameron House site and nearby in Balloch which is within reasonable walking distance of the lodge. The hotel has a fantastic horse shoe shaped bar with a very fine selection of whiskies, cocktails and other drinks with the most fantastic views over Loch Lomond. Coffee, sandwiches and other bar snacks are available here too. There are also two restaurants, including Martin Wishart at Cameron House which has a Michelin Star. A short walk from the lodge, still on the Cameron House site, but immediately adjacent to the Marina is the Boat House Bar and Restaurant offering seafood from Loch Fyne. With views over the Loch this provides a more contemporary eating experience. Balloch provides Chinese, Italian, and Indian options and pubs offering bar meals. Further afield, the choice is endless!
Owners are spoilt for choice with leisure options on site. The hotel spa provides an adult pool and separate children's pool with fun water slide with steam room and sauna. The gym is superbly equipped and overlooks the Loch, and there are squash and tennis courts, a pool room, beauty salon and 9 hole, Wee Demon, golf course set amongst many of the lodges.
A few miles North of Cameron House is The Carrick, another De Vere timeshare resort located on one of the most prestigious golf courses in Scotland. The Carrick championship golf course is not yet 10 years old, but it is one of the, must play, golf courses on anyone's bucket list! It has been designed to the highest of standards with the most challenging greens, fairways, bunkers and water features made all the more difficult by the stunning views from the course of the Loch, Ben Lomond and the National Park. Owners benefit from discounted golf fees and a courtesy service runs between Cameron House and The Carrick, facilitating access also to The Claret Jug Restaurant, and The Carrick's own spa and beauty therapy suites. Access to this world class experience is a real bonus to owning a timeshare week at Cameron House.
Cameron House is within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the surrounding area offers unlimited walking opportunities including the famous West Highland Way, cycling, sailing, fishing and cruising. The scenery is varied and there are endless day trip excursions possible, for example lochs, coastal areas, Oban, Glencoe, islands (Bute and its stately home of Mount Stewart for example) the lowlands, Stirling and Edinburgh.
Shorter trips can be taken to: Helensburgh (10 minutes) with its National Trust property Hill House (one of only 2 private house commissions that Charles Rennie McIntosh designed), golf course, views of the Clyde, bars and restaurants and national award winning fish (every type of fish) and chip shop or Luss, an historic village about 10 minutes North along the Loch shore and used as a TV location. Balloch at the South end of Loch Lomond and within walking distance has a Sea Life Aquarium, Loch Lomond Shores Shopping Mall including a branch of Jenners (House of Fraser group) and visitor centre.
Glasgow can be reached by train from Balloch station or by car the journey is 30 minutes to the city centre. This jewel of a city has something for everyone: dining, culture (eg the Burrell collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Pollock House, House for an Art Lover), theatre, concerts, architecture, shopping (to meet all pockets and aspirations) and is a fun and lively place simply to walk about in.
Travelling to Cameron House is very easy. Glasgow Airport is about 20 minutes away by car and the area is well served by motorway connections to the East and South. By railway, there is a connection between Glasgow and Balloch.
We have owned this week for 16 years and have enjoyed returning time and time again to the stress free environment that this resort provides. With advancing age and change in family circumstances we are now selling this week, and our other timeshare week at the Carrick (see separate listing Week 10). A stay in this lodge truly provides a luxurious and indulgent experience.
