During our first visit to Malta we feel in love with the island and its people, and decided to come back again. A few years later we had booked a room at the 5-star InterContinental Malta hotel at St. George's Bay, within walking distance of the towns of St. Julian's and Sliema. Cheap public transport (taxis, buses, ferries) makes it easy to travel the short distance to the capital Valletta and discover the rest of the interest and sightseeing opportunities of the islands of Malta and Gozo. When we were shown the hotel suites, it did not take long for us to sign up for a timeshare apartment with DIAMOND SUITES ON MALTA. Located within the InterContinental Malta hotel, which is only 7.5 miles from the airport, all amenities of the hotel are at your disposal. The long list includes a health and fitness centre, spa facilities, a private beach at the bay, indoor and outdoor pools, a club lounge, a choice of eight restaurants and three bars, as well as car parking facilities.

The apartment itself has one private bedroom (sleeps 2) with ensuite bathroom. The unit, on the sixth floor and easily accessible by a set of lifts, can accommodate a further two persons on a sofa bed in the living room, served by a second bathroom. Facilities include a partial kitchen, air conditioning, flatscreen televisions in both living room and bedroom, wireless internet and lots of storage space. The large balcony overlooks a well maintained inner courtyard with subtropical vegetation, water features, a coy and turtle pond and wooden bridges, ensuring a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The resort is affiliated with exchange companies such as Interval International, offering the possibility of using the fixed week (14) elsewhere, if required, and make use of so-called getaways. Check-in day is Saturday.

Across the street from the apartment is a shopping centre, which also includes a Marks & Spencer's food hall. The InterContinental Malta is centrally located is St. Julian's, within walking distance of some of Malta's finest restaurants. But a stay on Malta means so much more.
