We originally selected this unit having both bought and exchanged into this resort for many years and having been impressed not only with the commendable and friendly relationship between the staff and visitors but also with the convenient location and facilities which exist. We required an extra unit close enough but not too near the Christmas holiday to allow us to invite family members who were living too far from our home to expect meeting them during the Christmas break. In particular the additional permanent sleeping accommodation was perfect to meet our needs. Our reason for disposing of this cottage has been recently brought about by a change within the family, although our last visit in December was most enjoyable.
Over the years we have found the size of the resort to be ideal, being large enough to provide the type of facilities required for a pleasant holiday without being too sizeable to restrict the essential relationships both with staff and other visitors. Of course the association with the commendable Burnside Hotel on the same site, allowing access to their Leisure Centre for swimming, gymnasium, etc. along with bar and restaurant facilities, provides useful support if required. We used the hotel for our recent Golden Wedding celebrations and we remain owners of a smaller cottage here.
A resident's lounge is available at all hours and although this provides computer facilities, the recently upgraded Wi-Fi system appears to have good coverage of the cottages. Both bathrooms have been recently and tastefully refurbished.
Apart from the renowned facilities of Bowness itself, this resort is an excellent starting point for a variety of walks on both sides of Lake Windermere.
