The Villacana Resort is situated on the coast of the Mediterranean, half way between the lively upmarket town of Marbella, the famous marina at Puerto Banus and Estepona. It is conveniently placed approximately 60 minutes from Malaga International airport and 50 minutes from Gibraltar International airport and is accessed by the main Malaga to Gibraltar dual carriageway road The resort is managed to a high professional standard and has a very friendly atmosphere.The houses are built in the Spanish style with shaded terracotta walkways/courtyards and has well maintained gardens with beautiful flowers and shrubs. There are three swimming pools. one is situated outside the villa.The main pool in the heart of the resort has a cafe / bar and restaurant which serves snacks/light meals during the day and delicious meals in the evening.There is a third indoor pool which is ideal for teaching children to swim, a sauna/steam room, a jacussi and tennis courts adjacent to the main pool area. For those who prefer the sand and sea, this is a very short walk from the main pool. There is a convenience store onsite, selling freshly baked baguettes and croissants at breakfast time. Two supermarkets are nearby on the main road.

The house is on three floors. One enters through the full kitchen, with dishwasher and fridge/freezer, to the lounge and dining area. One of the two sofas is a sofa bed which sleeps two people. Going through the two French windows at the back, one enters into a private, walled, terracotta tiled patio/garden with a built in barbecue and space to relax.Facing west, it is possible to enjoy the last of the setting sun while enjoying an evening meal.
The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is on the second floor, two twin bedded rooms and a further bathroom are on the third floor. Both bathrooms have showers fitted.

We have now been visiting Villacana for over twenty years and have had many wonderful holidays there. As we are now getting too old to travel, we have reluctantly decided that the time has come to sell our timeshare.

In 2004, we paid extra to buy options points as an enhancement to our fixed weeks. This means that if we were unable to visit Villacana, or just fancied trying somewhere different, it would be possible to go somewhere else, at a time of our choosing. Being members of RCI has meant that we are not restricted to going to a Macdonald Resort, but can go anywhere, at our convenience, to one of the resorts worldwide.
If one chooses to use the fixed weeks at Villacana, one must inform the resort within a month of the end of the set week/s, that it is one`s intention to use the week/s the following year.

The famous "Selwo" wildlife park is a short distance away and is a must visit for those with children. If you have a hire car it is worth visiting several of the " white villages" that Andalucia is famous for, also the marina at Puerto Banus to see how the other half live, and, of course, the fabulous city of Ronda with it`s historic bridge and gorge, makes an hour`s trip up into the mountains well worth while. Gibraltar is about an hour`s drive heading west along the coast. .If you prefer not to drive, the resort has organised trips you can go on.
