The Villacana Resort is situated on the coast of the Mediterranean, halfway between the lively, upmarket town of Marbella, the famous marina at Puerto Banus and Estepona. It is conveniently placed approximately 60 minutes from Malaga International Airport and 50 minutes from Gibraltar International Airport and is accessed by the main Malaga to Gibraltar dual carriageway road. The resort is managed to a high professional standard and has a very friendly atmosphere. The houses are built in the Spanish style with shaded terracotta walkways/courtyards and has well maintained gardens with beautiful flowers and shrubs.
There are three swimming pools, one is situated outside the villa. The main pool in the heart of the resort has a cafe / bar and restaurant which serve snacks/light meals during the day and delicious meals in the evening. There is a third indoor pool which is ideal for teaching children to swim, a sauna/steam room, a Jacuzzi and tennis courts adjacent to the main pool area. For those who prefer sand and sea, this is a very short walk from the main pool. A convenience store is on site where warm, freshly baked baguettes and croissants can be purchased for breakfast. There are two large supermarkets nearby along the main road.
The house is on three floors. One enters through a full kitchen with fridge freezer and dishwasher, to a lounge/ dining area which has two sofas, one of which is a sofa bed. Exiting out of the back through two French windows, one comes to a private walled garden, with terracotta tiled patio and a built in barbecue. There is plenty of space to relax and, facing west, enjoy many an evening meal catching the last of the evening sun. The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is on the second floor and two twin bedded rooms and a further bathroom are on the third floor. Both bathrooms have showers fitted.
We have been owners at Villacana for over twenty years and have spent many wonderful holidays there. We are now elderly and it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to travel. We have therefore, reluctantly, decided to place our timeshare with the agent to sell.
In 2004 we paid extra to buy options points as an enhancement to our fixed week/s. This means that if we are unable to visit the resort, or we decide that we would like a change of scene, we can have a holiday elsewhere. Being members of RCI enables us to go to anywhere in the world, at a time of our choosing. If one chooses to use the fixed week/s, one must inform the resort within a month after the end of the fixed week period, that it is one`s intention to use the fixed week/s the following year.
The "Selwo" wildlife park is not far away and is a must visit for those with children. If you have a hire car, there are several of the "white villages" to visit that Andalucia is famous for nearby. One can visit the marina at Puerto Banus to see how the other half live and ,of course, the historic city of Ronda with it`s famous bridge and gorge is well worth the one hour`s drive up into the mountains. Gibraltar is an hour`s drive to the west.
