St Ives has always been the prettiest and most interesting place in Cornwall to have a holiday, but over the last few years it has got even better. Every year we go down, we see new bars, shops and restaurants, and the place is buzzing. It's home to a thriving artistic legacy, with numerous galleries, from small ones tucked away in back streets to the Tate. It has a real up market, even trendy feel, and we spend most evenings just walking around the town, after a meal or drink.

Tregenna Castle is located above St Ives and has stunning views of the bay and headland.
Lodge 11 is a Scandinavian pole lodge, offering pure luxury and indulgence.

It's at the top of the hill, so has the best views, and is closest to the hotel facilities.

The accommodation is RCI Gold Crown standard, each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, two with jacuzzi style baths, and one with a full sauna.

The timeshare week gives you Gold Key membership of the hotel facilities, which provides discounts on restaurants, golf course etc. and free membership of the health club ( which has indoor and outdoor pools).

St Ives sits on the South West coastal path, and the walks to the west towards Lands End are truly spectacular, and must rank with the best in the world. I have also had great fun cycling in the area, including to St Michael's Mount.

Membership entitles you to additional discounted accommodation, and I used to go down for a week in December for walking/cycling holidays.

There are three main beaches, all within easy walking distance, from the family friendly Porthminster beach (with famous restaurant), just below Tregenna, to the surfers' favourite Porthmeor beach on the other side of the headland.

We've had some great weather in September, and St Ives is a more pleasant and relaxed place outside the peak holiday period.

We've taken our children and grandchildren there for 20 years plus, but are selling because we want to take future holidays with our grandkids, during school holidays.

Changeover day is Sunday, which is a must for Cornwall.

Fees are paid for 2014, the timeshare expires December 2026.
