Pestana Village is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Funchal which is the capital of Madeira. The Village is secluded from the nearby coastal road and is set in verdant landscaped gardens which provide a wonderful range of trees, scents and flowers throughout the year.

The apartment itself is situated on the third (and top) floor of the highest block in the Village. It thus commands a wonderful view of the Village gardens, the mountains, Funchal, the cruise liners in the harbour and the sea. It is reached by lift or stairs. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a large lounge dining room with two settees, one of which converts to a double bed, two balconies with sun loungers, table and chairs. Guests receive welcoming wine and flowers. There is a daily maid service.

The resort is linked to the Miramar Hotel and each uses the facilities of both. They enjoy two large outdoor swimming pools, one indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, a gym, a sauna, a steam room, a games room and Wi-Fi facilities. There are four restaurants, Al fresco dining and bars.

Funchal is one of the safest and cleanest cities and has a wonderful mix of traditional and modern elegance. The resort organises a range of excursions but the more independent minded can make use of the taxis and local buses which are available on the coastal road. There are levada walks, garden visits, vineyard visits, golf courses, more demanding mountain walks, flower markets and sea activities
