This studio apartment is in the 5 star Royal Savoy Resort, Funchal, on the beautiful island of Madeira. The two person accommodation can sleep a further two in the lounge area courtesy of a sofa bed. It is situated on the 2nd floor with a high standard of decoration and has perfect views of the pool area and of the sea just beyond. The two large pools are well designed surrounded by an abundance of palm trees and shrubs which afford a varied choice of sunbathing areas with a certain degree of privacy ie. no lying in rows upon rows of sunbeds. The style of the Royal Savoy is peaceful with tasteful furnishing and artwork with a library and reading area. There is also a large indoor swimming pool, sauna ,gym, hairdressing/ beauty department and internet access. The glass elevators, sunken bar, stylish restaurant, outside eating area, poolside bar serving snacks are all of a good standard. Entertainment of a tasteful nature is offered every evening.

Funchal is beautiful town full of character with cobbled streets, an old town area, a long seafront promenade, great for a walk anytime of the day. The island is most attractive with a number of tours available or indeed hire a car and explore yourself. A selection of golf courses are readily on hand or try Levada walking, with guides for the more difficult walks or by yourself for the easier ones. Visits to the two botanical gardens are a must with orchid nurseries worth a visit. There are a number of festivals held throughout the year, the fabulous Carnival in February, Easter celebrations, Flower Festival in May with the wonderful renowned firework display on Hogmanay with many others in between. Funchal has it's own theatre styled on a look-a-like London venue in miniature. The atmosphere in this town is great with a superb selection of eating places to choose from

Taxi from the airport is best and can be booked from the resort in advance and is a 20 minute journey. The climate is excellent and even in winter is pleasant. The studio falls on week 15 which is mid April but can be changed for another date but would incur a charge. April is a lovely time of the year in Madeira with temperatures in the mid 20's which is great for sunbathing but still pleasant for walking.
