Nestling in the heart of the Trossocks National Park, on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland is the estate of the prestigious De Vere Cameron House Hotel and Resort. The lodge is located within the grounds of the estate, with commanding views over the loch to the small town of Balloch and the hills beyond.

Balloch is small but caters for most needs with many pubs and restaurants including Chinese, Indian and Italian eat in or take away services. The supermarket provides everything for those who wish to self cater.

Glasgow city centre is approx 25miles from Balloch and is well served by motorway and rail connections. The M8 motorway carves it way through the city and out as far as Glasgow airport which is 16 miles from Balloch.

Cameron House is a De Vere Hotel and Resort and has all the amenities one would expect of a five star luxury resort including indoor swimming pool, spa, gymnasium, excellent restaurants, a nine hole golf course known as the "Wee Demon". Extensive grounds extend down to the marina, and The Marina Restaurant, on the banks of Loch Lomond.

The Lodge will sleep up to 8 people, on the lower ground floor there is one king-size master bedroom and one double bedroom with TV in master bedroom and luxury en suite facilities in both. There is a third double bedroom on the ground floor and a further two pull down beds in the main living area. A shower room and the sauna are also located on the ground floor. The entrance hall leads through to the open plan living area consisting of lounge with leather sofas, TV, audio equipment and Wi-Fi. The dining area has a large dining table and seating for 8 people. The fully fitted kitchen has fridge, freezer, oven, ceramic hob, microwave and dishwasher. The utility area has washing and drying facilities. Cots, high chairs and safety gates can be provided for babies and toddlers.

The picture windows open out onto a large balcony with a table and comfortable chairs overlooking the marina, and Ballock Castle on the far side of the loch.

This area of Scotland is very scenic. It is ideal for walkers or for the less energetic a leisurely scenic drive through the hills and glens.

If you can tear yourselves away from the 'Wee Demon' and get the kids out of the swimming pool, take a drive via Tarbet and through the Argyll Forest Park to visit Inveraray Castle and Jail on the north bank of Loch Fyne, time it right for an excellent lunch at the Loch Fyne Oyster bar. Take the car ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothsay on the Isle of Bute, follow the coastal route clockwise, have a nice pub lunch at the Kingarth Hotel at Kingarth, carry on round the coast road to see the seal colony at Ardscalpsie. Return via Rothsay or take the alternative ferry at the northern tip of Bute and return via the south bank of Loch Fyne back to Tarbet and Loch Lomond a good day out.

Take a ferry ride from Balloch harbour and cruise the length of Loch Lomond.

Take a half hour stroll from the lodge to Lomond Shores complex visit Jenner's department store the aquarium or the Imax cinema, every other Sunday is the local farmers market.

Take a morning visit the Glen Goyne distillery at Dungoyne and see how the Scottish malt whiskey is produced and, for mums and dads, have a wee dram on the house. Then take the kids to Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park near Sterling an excellent family day out!
