Cameron house is a 5 star resort ideally located at the edge of the stunningly picturesque Scottish Highlands, within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, yet is easily accessible being only 20 miles from Glasgow and 20 minutes from Glasgow Airport. It is well situated to explore the Highlands or for taking day trips to historic Scottish cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow or Stirling.

Cameron House itself boasts many first class facilities, so even if you don't feel the need to explore you will be well catered for by staying put at the resort. It is located on the banks of Loch Lomond with wonderful views of the loch and Ben Lomond beyond. The facilities available include, an indoor swimming pool with sauna, steam room and spa. Fully equipped gym, tennis, squash, table tennis, archery, snooker and an excellent 9 hole golf course. There is an impressive array of other activities that can be arranged through the hotel or complimentary access to the sister resort the Carrick, which is only a few miles away, where a championship 18 hole golf course is available for your use. There is a selection of 4 dining establishments at Cameron House ranging from high quality pub food at 'the Scotman's Bar' to fine dining at the Michelin star award wining 'Wishart' Restaurant.

The Lodge (Week 28)
Facilities at this lodge include a very large Living/Dining area with huge balcony with an uninterrupted view of both the loch and majestic Ben Lomond beyond. A fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons, 3 double bedrooms two of which have en suite bathrooms and a further bathroom, entrance lobby and utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. It also has 2 parking spaces. As you might expect at a 5 star resort, the lodge is tastefully decorated throughout to the highest order. It has top of the range appliances, a state of the art flat screen TV with free in-house movies and crystal wine glasses amongst its many features. Furthermore, as this lodge was accidentally burnt down approximately 3 years ago its fixtures and fittings are as new.

The lodge can comfortably sleep 8 people and being located further up the hill only seeks to highlight its uninterrupted views rather than many other lodges at the resort whose views are often obscured by trees at the waters edge where 'midges' seem to congregate.

We have always found that week 28 was a particularly beautiful and convenient time of year to visit this part of Scotland. It falls well within the kids school holidays, currently starting the 2nd Sunday in July and also allows us to take advantage of those long Scottish evenings where it doesn't get dark until after 10pm. In truth, the only reason we are selling is following our move to Sydney we found that this week no longer coincided with Australian, New South Wales' holidays.
