Castries, the nearby capital of St Lucia is an interesting and typical Caribbean city, visited by many cruise liners.  The vibrant resort of Gros Islet, with shops and many restaurants, is a short drive away and the whole island, including the Pitons area is easily accessible if you hire a car - or by boat trip.  The George Charles airport is only 15 minutes drive away, and is the gateway to other Caribbean islands, and US hub airports.  The international airport, Hewanorra is about an hour's drive away in the south of the island.

Onsite facilities at Windjammer include two swimming pools (one very near the villa); a lovely crescent-shaped beach with fine sand, reclining chairs and sunshades; and a selection of restaurants including fine dining.  Frequent, free transport is provided throughout the resort, and the villas have daily maid service.  The resort is beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers and vegetation, and has a large, attractive lobby area.  Numerous and helpful staff are on hand at all times. Nursery facilities and babysitting are available as well as water sports.  There is a daily program of activities in the resort to suit all ages and tastes, and excursions further afield are easily arranged with the helpful concierge.  There is a small shop selling clothes and local items; and a well-stocked supermarket. There is plenty of car parking near the resort Reception, and a few parking spaces near the villa.

The villa lies amid tropical gardens, close to the small resort road in the centre of the resort, and is accessed via a decking path and some stairs. The one-storey accommodation, with attractive traditional-style décor throughout, consists of a well-equipped kitchen, and spacious sitting area, with fully fitted kitchen, bar area and bar stools, and comfortable seating for four.  A sofa bed in the sitting room sleeps two.  There is a very large terrace with a lovely view out to sea, two reclining chairs and (shaded) full-size table and chairs for eating outside.  The bathroom has sink, toilet and bath with a good shower over.  The bedroom is very large, with a huge bed, lovely sea views and a door leading out to the terrace.  It has a walk-in room with plenty of hanging space leading off the other side.  The living room and bedroom are air-conditioned and there is a TV and CD player in the sitting room.
