The suburb of Weston lies on the edge of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area, adjacent to the Florida Everglades. It is home to the Vacation Village timeshare resort, a large complex containing mostly one-bedroom accommodation which sleeps up to four people. It is a favourite with older timeshare owners from the northern parts of the USA for its warm winter weather and quiet location in a leafy, suburban setting, close-by stores and restaurants.

Timeshare apartments here are set off foyer areas and feature a West Indies style. There is a vending machine on each floor, and the resort offers a swimming pool and other recreation facilities. The timeshare property itself is equidistant between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, with both cities’ plethora of attractions, beaches, shopping districts and entertainment a short drive away by hire car. Nearby are golf courses and tennis courts, and the spectacular Everglades National Park forms a border of the suburb.

Fishing and boating are popular activities, as are tours of the watery wilderness and trips on the Jungle Queen Riverboat. Miami’s glorious beaches offer every kind of water sport, including sailing and deep-sea fishing, and Fort Lauderdale’s Sawgrass Mills entertainment and retail hub makes for a great day out. Vacation Village is a perfect winter destination as the glorious weather at this time is far less humid than the weather in the summer months. Highlights as regards activities include a drive through the spectacular Florida Keys or an eco-tour of the Everglades.
