Set in Puerta de la Cruz on the northern shores of Tenerife, this seven-storey aparthotel is surrounded by carefully maintained gardens containing a swimming pool, and the sandy beach is just a five-minute stroll away. Also known as Martianez Tenerife, the property offers a choice of studio units at favourable prices compared with other local hotels.

The studios are simply but pleasantly furnished and include a partially fitted kitchen, a telephone, television, comfortable seating and ensuite bathrooms, some of which are fitted with Jacuzzi baths. All units have balconies, and there’s a sauna and massage salon.

With the exception of Wednesdays, there’s a daily maid service, and childcare is available. As the hotel is located right in the heart of town, there’s no need for a hired car.

Amenities here include a fitness centre and a medical facility, and there’s a good choice of eateries and bars within a few metres of the accommodation. The hotel has a discotheque, and the resort’s buzzing nightlife is just a step away.

Puerta de la Cruz’s old port quarter is traditional, charming, with few fast food outlets or overly touristy attractions. Local fishermen still go out each morning, and can be seen preparing their catch for sale on the harbour steps.
