Whether you are skiing in the winter or playing on the lake in summer, the timeshare units at Tahoe Chaparral provide unbeatable access to the outdoor recreation of Lake Tahoe. This section of California’s Sierra Nevada mountains is one of the most popular spots in America, offering easy access to everything from San Francisco to the casinos of Reno.
This resort is ideal for travellers who prefer to do things themselves. There are no amenities on site, just the handful of condo units that cling to the wooded hillside. This creates a quiet atmosphere more akin to your own cabin than a bustling tourist resort. But each unit features everything needed for a great holiday in this mountain hot spot.
All of the two-storey condos at Tahoe Chaparral can sleep up-to six guests, with a queen bed in the master, two twins in the guest bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living area. The fully-equipped kitchen makes it easy to eat in, which is a helpful amenity considering the resort doesn’t have any facilities on site.
Guests will enjoy all the creature comforts of home, including a washer and dryer to handle laundry needs and cosy fireplace to keep warm on those nippy alpine nights. The real highlight of these classic mountain lodge timeshare units is the large outdoor deck that feature panoramic views over the deep blue Lake Tahoe.
It takes only a few minutes to reach the water, where waterskiing, boating, fishing and swimming are popular summer activities. In winter, everything revolves around the multiple ski resorts that ring Lake Tahoe. Tahoe Chaparral is located just above Incline Village, ensuring quick access to both skiing and the bars and restaurants of this lively resort town on the north shore of the lake.
There are an incredible 17 ski resorts within striking distance of the resort. The closest is Diamond Peak, just four blocks away. Its five lifts serve 30 different runs and a vertical drop of 560 metres. While small, it’s a fun local hill that provides a tranquil contrast to the big ski resorts at Tahoe, such as Heavenly and Squaw.
The main town nearby is Tahoe City, a hub of accommodation, dining and shopping. If you crave a little more excitement, the casinos of Nevada are just a few minutes down the road. Summer visitors will certainly want to plan a day to drive State Route 28, considered one of America’s most scenic drives.
