South Africa's first national park shares its name with and stands to the right of Kruger Park Lodge in the country's easternmost corner. This wilderness retreat is situated on the grounds of the Gary Player Golf Course on the Sabie River's banks.
Spacious timeshare units stand alongside private and fractional homes at this RCI affiliated resort which has attained Gold Crown status. On the outside, the units may resemble traditional huts with brick exteriors and thatched roofs, but there is no shortage of modern conveniences inside each timeshare.
All of these luxury chalets contain between one and four bedrooms and include kitchen areas as well as open plan lounges. Each entrance leads to the golf course, river, or surrounding woodland. Outdoor braai facilities allow guests to prepare their own traditional South African barbecue on a wooden deck.
One of the Kruger Park Lodge's most unusual amenities is a hippo hide where guests can watch for one of the region's largest beasts. The reception area features a restaurant as well as a nearby playground and trampoline for children. There are also three surrounding swimming pools.
This resort ranks among the area's Top 10 specialty lodging establishments. Two of the Kruger National Park's nine gates are under an hour's drive from Kruger Park Lodge. The surrounding region contains the Blyde River Canyon's stunning scenery, the Panorama Route's extreme activities, and some of South Africa's most exotic wildlife.
