Holiday Club TegefjallSweden

Holiday Club Tegefjall is a popular timeshare option in the quaint village of Tegefjall, near to the Åre ski resort in Jamtland. This super-green village is a fine place to be holed-up in whatever time of year, offering plenty to see and do in summer as well as the winter ski season.

This is an expensive area to fork out for nightly accommodation, so it pays to go for timeshare ownership if you’re a frequent visitor and are lucky enough to secure a unit. Holiday Club Tegefjall has excellent facilities and a selection of timeshare apartments, which go from one bedroom to three bedroom.

One bedroom units can house up to four people, two bedrooms six people and the three bedroom apartments 11 people. They are comfortably attired, having an open lounge, dining and kitchen area. Kitchens are fully equipped, with oven and hob, fridge and microwave, plus there’s also a dishwasher.

Units offer a fireplace, TV and even a sauna in the bathroom, plus there is also a separate storage area at the entrance with washer and drier. Also onsite at Holiday Club Tegefjall is a snack bar, restaurant and minimart for ultimate convenience should you want to focus entirely on skiing or hiking.

Holiday Club Tegefjall sits under the guise of Areskutan Mountain, within walking distance of ski lifts, and is accessible by both bus and train. This huge ski area is good for beginners and advanced skiers and has regular pistes as well as cross-country skiing and dog sledding. The closest to the accommodation is the Duved-Tegefjäll ski area.

This is also a top area to visit in summer, with several of the ski lifts remaining open so that hikers and sightseers have quick access. There’s also cable car access and mountain biking, white-water rafting, fishing and horse-riding are also widely enjoyed.

Several classy restaurants are located up on the mountain, including the well received Stormköket restaurant, along with the exhilarating Zipeline zipline at Åre and a frozen waterfall. Après-ski is in the form of bars, clubs and boozy cabins, mostly at Åre.

It is best to have a hired car for your time here, though the Skibus runs hourly between the four main villages: Åre, Björnen, Duved and Tegefjäll. This is free with a ski pass. Åre Östersund Airport is the closest and receives flights from London and a few other European cities. There is a direct bus to the villages, or the train to Åre, which goes via the village of Hell.
