Ferienclub Schloss Grubhof Austria

Ferienclub Schloss GrubhofLofer, Austria

Guests who invest in Ferienclub Schloss Grubhof have the unique opportunity to own and stay in part of an authentic Alpine castle first built in 1325. Kaiser Wilhelm II and the King of Bavaria are just a couple of the noble guests who have spent nights in this spectacular castle situated between Salzburg, the nearest large city, and the legendary Kitzbühl ski resort in the heart of the Austrian Alps.

The 32 available apartments in this four floor castle are divided into small studios suitable for two people, one bedroom units where up-to four people can sleep, and two bedroom units which can hold up to six guests. Many rooms are adorned with our poster beds, antique furniture, and even paintings on the ceiling. Guests can also, however, enjoy more modern conveniences such as telephones, kitchenettes, and central heating.

Those with mobility issues should select units whose numbers are lower than 30 as stairs are the only way to reach the upper levels of this castle without an elevator. The main marble staircase has been meticulously preserved. Heating, water, and electricity fees must be paid upon arrival at the reception area.

After long days of skiing, sightseeing, or simply exploring the mountains, guests can relax in the property's private sauna, savour meals surrounded by Alpine scenery in the onsite restaurant, play billiards in the lounge, or enjoy table tennis games in the castle park.

The village where Ferienclub Schloss Grubhof is situated, Lofer, is surrounded by three different mountain ranges and three important valley routes. This makes Lofer an ideal place to begin summer lake excursions or winter ski adventures. This small village also boasts its fair share of bars, restaurants, and cafés.

A 20 minute drive will transport visitors to the larger resort of Zell am See, whose borders include an outstanding mountain range and lovely lake. Nearby glacier skiing provides unique opportunities to speed down the slopes at any time of the year. Many summer visitors, however, prefer to stick to more typical warm weather outdoor activities like fishing, golfing, hiking, or horseback riding.

Automobiles are the most efficient way to travel the 40kms between this rural mountain region and its nearest major city, Salzburg, which is also the location of the closest airport. An even larger city, Munich, lies 140kms northwest of this historic Alpine retreat.
