From the Mayan Riveria and Yucatan Peninsula to the Pacific coast and Cabo St Lucas
At the north-east tip of the Yucatan peninsula, Cancun is surrounded by the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea and is our favoured location for those looking for a timeshare holiday in Mexico. There’s a good range of quality accommodation with the best positioned resorts located on the thin strip of land surrounding the lagoon, such as the Sunset Lagoon Hotel and Marina.
There’s a wealth of things to see and do here and topping the list for day trip excursions has to be a visit to one of the ancient Mayan sites such as the Magnificent pyramid of Chichen Itza and the Tulum Ruins which hug a beautiful section of coast. For a totally unique experience a visit to Cancun’s underwater sculpture museum is a must! Hundreds of intriguing and comical sculptures lie in shallow waters just off the beach from the highly acclaimed Isla Mujeres Palace and can be enjoyed by both divers and snorkelers. For nature lovers the exotic wildlife of the region can be enjoyed from one of a number of reserves and opportunities to get up close and personal with dolphins and whale sharks too.
A little further down the coast from Cancun is the smaller area of Playa Del Carmen which is home to more excellent resorts such as the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Winner, The Royal Haciendas.
Penned by Phil Collins for the film “Buster”, “Going Loco Down In Acapulco” was a hit for the ”Four Tops” in the 1980’s and brought this Pacific west coast city to the attention of Europeans. Today it’s fair to say the city has something of a split personality. Some areas are highly commercialised with emphasis on beach and nightlife whilst the pockets of coastline that have managed to escape the grasps of high rise developments and retained the natural charm. For those considering a timeshare purchase here then the Grand Mayan Acapulco is a top choice!
Cabo San Lucas
On the very southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, the small city of Cabo San Lucas can boast a whopping 360 sunny days each year. Not surprisingly then, Cabo has become a popular winter destination and the beaches, coastline and pacific take centre stage for activities. Try your hand at big game fishing or kick back and take more relaxing cruise to explore some of the sandy coves. Seafood is the order of the day and don’t leave without sampling the fish tacos! Having received very good feedback and been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence The Pueblo Bonito Resort at Sunset Beach is a firm favourite here.
