Forget the cities of Sydney and Melbourne, Queensland is where the “real” Australia you have pictured in your head starts and Noosa, north of Brisbane and just a little south of the Tropic of Capricorn is a great place to explore some of Australia’s most revered natural sites. Set off early for a day trip to Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world it's 75 miles long and 15 miles wide. Take a 4x4 tour and visit some of the fresh water lakes on the island, see the famous shipwreck and soak up the natural beauty. Whilst it will be quite a change from the lap of luxury at Club Noosa, camping overnight will give you a lot more time to explore the island and enjoy one of Australia’s finest gems.
