Bougainvillea Beach Resort is a fine, oceanfront timeshare complex on the south coast of Barbados. This fabulous timeshare resort boasts stunning studios and suites organised around a trio of dazzling swimming pools and tropical gardens, all within close proximity of two beautiful, white sand beaches.
The pools and gardens at Bougainvillea form a centrepiece, with the balconies of the timeshare units overlooking these features. With around 150 studios and one- and two-bedroom suites, there is plenty of choice here when it comes to accommodation. Guests have use of a swim-up bar with local and international beers and exotic cocktails, and there is a separate children’s pool nearby. Further facilities include a lap pool, a well-equipped fitness centre, a tennis court and a beauty spa with impressive treatment options.
Adults looking for time away can make use of the babysitting service and there is a kids’ club on site, while visitors on business have access to a conference room with useful office facilities. Also on site at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort is a boutique and gift shop, while a selection of bars and restaurants (including the popular Lanterns by the Sea by the water) provide a good level of entertainment.
The timeshare suites are beautifully decked out with lush Caribbean-style furnishings, large beds and free Wi-Fi internet. The resort sits on the highly-rated Maxwell Beach, plus there are other beaches within walking distance, including Dover Beach and Welches Beach. The south coast comes with Barbados’ best surfing and windsurfing potential. Maxwell Beach is best bet for beginners, while better territory for experience surfers and windsurfers is Silver Sands, farther east lessons and equipment hire are available at both of these beaches. Oistins, backed by a fishing town, is located between the two and is great for eating, with Friday night noted for its beach hut-based Fish Fry.
The Barbadian capital of Bridgetown is nearby to the northwest of Bougainvillea Beach Resort and the best place on the island for duty-free shopping or picking up local knickknacks at Cheapside Market. To learn more about Barbados, check out the History Museum. Grantley Adams International Airport is located within the district of Christ Church and is an easy transfer from this timeshare resort. There are large government-run buses as well as minibuses and private taxis, making getting between Bridgetown and Christ Church a cinch.
