The stunning scenery of the iconic Banff National Park surrounds the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort at Cascade Mountain's base. This is one of the most peaceful mountain retreats in this popular Alberta region despite its fairly close proximity to downtown Banff.
There is a tremendous variety of timeshares within these picturesque white wooden buildings. One and two bedroom condominiums are available alongside standard, studio, loft, and executive suites. Private entrances, kitchens, fireplaces, and wet bars are standard amenities in most units. The majority of beds are queen sized.
The larger Fairholme Suite boasts one and a half bathrooms with a jetted tub, while the newer Wolf Condos are named after the wolf accents which are part of their picturesque mountain décor. The largest of the Wolf Condos contains four bedrooms, but smaller units are also readily available.
The rural location of this 2013 Housekeeping Award winning property allows for more activities than many competing resorts closer to downtown Banff. There is an indoor swimming pool in addition to both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Extra fees are charged to use the indoor squash and outdoor tennis courts, but not the horseshoe pitch or basketball court.
Guests who prefer indoor workouts have a 10 station universal gym, exercise balls, jump ropes, resistance tubes, free weights, and sauna at their disposal at the onsite Mountain Health and Fitness Club. Internet access is available in both wired and wireless forms.
The onsite restaurant is a casual bar and deli which specialises in quick snacks and pub fare. Diners can enjoy billiards or darts games with their meals, and children are welcome until 21:00. The Rocky Mountains can be seen from all sides of both bright conference rooms, which can hold up to 140 people.
Timeshare guests here also enjoy complimentary internet access, shuttles which depart for downtown Banff once each hour, and even groceries delivered to doorsteps for guests who order online in advance from BanffGrocery.ca. Visitors can also access the full roster of spa treatments at Banff Caribou Lodge's Red Earth Spa.
In winter, Banff Rocky Mountain Resort offers popular a la carte ski packages which include discounted lift passes to the nearby Lake Louise, Sunshine Village, or Mount Norquay ski resorts. The latter resort is famous for its night skiing and tubing, while the Banff Gondola leads to Sulphur Mountain's summit. Canoeing and Legacy Trail cycling are a couple of popular summer activities.
