This apartment is known as the Penthouse for good reason- it is the largest and in the best position, overlooking the river with windows on 2 sides. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one ensuite. The bedrooms also have TVs. There is a very large lounge so you can easily sleep 6. We joked that we could practice our ballroom dancing in the lounge, it was so big, but we never did! It is on the second floor, and there is a lift. It has a full-width veranda with loungers and an outside table and chairs. The kitchen has everything you want- oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge. I think there are laundry facilities on the ground floor, but we've never used them. We used to be able to see all the way down the river to the sea at Shaldon and Teignmouth, but the trees have grown too tall now.

The timeshare owner is automatically a member of the spa, so can use those facilities plus the gym and indoor swimming pool. There is a games room on the ground floor. The apartment is linked to the hotel, which has a restaurant, and there is also the Inn, which serves food.

Newton Abbot has good restaurants and shops; we especially liked the Eastern Eye Indian restaurant. And it has a good rail link to Bristol. There's horse racing in Newton Abbot but I'm not sure if there's a meeting that week, we've never been.

Teignmouth and Torquay are not far away, with lots of seaside attractions for the family. As Oldies, we went there for the restaurants (and shops- Hoopers in Torquay). We liked Fish 7 in Torquay and the Crab Shack in Teignmouth. There are very good taxi firms in the area for those who like a drink with their meal and excellent food; they make a good Bloody Mary at Fish 7!
