The lodge at Hilton Craigendarroch Country Estate provides the perfect escape from everyday life. On the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, walking opportunities are endless often accompanied by sightings of deer on the hillside. Our favourite spots have been Loch Muick, Glen Tanar and the Linn of Dee. Bike hire is available (complete with trailers for the little ones) providing another way to explore the area with easy access to the cycle path. Situated within walking distance of the Victorian village of Ballater, there are opportunities to buy good local produce as well as eat in the local cafes and restaurants and being on the doorstep of the Queen's residence at Balmoral, there is plenty of history and heritage to absorb too. We have enjoyed the area with everyone from grandparents to toddlers, but family circumstances have meant it is time to let it go.

The lodge itself is spacious and well equipped. It's a self-contained two storey unit with views across the garden and during our fixed week (start of June), the rhododendrons provide splashes of colour which can be enjoyed from the balcony. The red squirrels even pop by to say hello! The resort itself offers a good size swimming pool and other sporting facilities along with a restaurant (eat in or eat in your lodge) so you can relax in the lodge after a long walk and soak in the pool.

The resort has been renovated in recent years and the Craigendarroch Owners' Club and Hilton Grand Vacations respond positively to suggestions raised by owners. Weeks can be exchanged worldwide within HIGVC.

Car parking is available close to the Lodge.
