Our Lodge is located at Hilton Craigendarroch, Ballater, Royal Deeside in Scotland.

We have spent the last 14 years during week 8 - week commencing Sunday 19 February 2017 - enjoying the delights of this area. The peace and pace of life of this part of Scotland is ideal for a really restful week. If on the other hand, you would prefer more activity, then the hills and mountain ranges are within easy driving distance. It's probably true to say that we have had good snow/skiing conditions for at least 10 of the 14 years we have visited! For golf lovers, Ballater offers an 18 hole course in peaceful surroundings.

Ballater is 40 miles from the nearest airport (Aberdeen) and 106 miles from Edinburgh airport. Ballater itself is located on the River Dee and is only a few miles from Balmoral Castle where the Royal family spend time during the Summer period. It is also close to several well-known distilleries, the closest being Lochnagar Distillery, famous for its malt whisky.

What about the Lodge itself? As you will see from the attached photographs the Lodge is in excellent condition and a new heating system has been recently installed. On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom with bathroom (including shower) and dressing area as well as a drying cabinet and cupboards. On the upper floor, the large lounge/kitchen contains a dishwasher and all necessary crockery, cutlery and utensils. Here too is a pull-down double bed and exit to a balcony with table and seating for 6 persons. The second bedroom is on the upper floor together with a large shower room, toilet and sauna. A washing machine is located beside the hot water tank in this area. Last year, Hilton Craigendarroch replaced both the bathroom(downstairs) and the shower room (upstairs) again to a very high standard of finish. The location of the Lodge is very convenient for both entry and exit and can accommodate 2 vehicles in the parking area in front of the Lodge.

There are plenty facilities for both young and not-so-young visitors. The inviting pool for the adults and the smaller pool for the children at Craigendarroch are very popular and other facilities include a steam room, sauna, spa bath as well as tennis courts, squash, snooker table, table tennis and gymnasium.

Lodge owners and guests can make use of the excellent eating facilities within Hilton Craigendarroch with the choice of hot and cold snacks/meals or table service in the main restaurant.

The surrounding area has a lot to offer - fishing, horse riding, 4X4 conducted trips, all of which can be arranged for your enjoyment at Hilton Craigendarroch.
