The original Hilton Craigendarroch Hotel used to be the country home of the famous Keiller family from Dundee who founded the Keiller Marmalade Company. In the last quarter of a century time ownership lodges were sympathetically developed in the wooded grounds of the hotel- each built on Scandinavian principles to a high standard with everything that you need for a home from home. Fully equipped kitchens, luxury bathrooms and sauna complement the comfortable bedrooms and a lounge with panoramic windows and balcony look through the mature trees towards the winding Dee. Squirrels, birds and rabbits share your walk from the lodge to the Country Club which has recently been refurbished to include an excellent brasserie, comfortable lounge bar, heated swimming pool with adjacent Jacuzzi and children's pool, squash court, games room, fitness room and spa. This is the club where the late Princess Diana used to bring Princes William and Harry to swim while they were staying at nearby Braemar Castle.

This lodge sleeps a maximum of six persons and has two bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom - one with a double bed, the other with twin beds. The third bed is a double pull-down bed in the lounge. The lodge features a BOSE music system, flat screen TV in lounge and main bedroom, WiFi and telephone. Heating is by electric storage heaters and convectors and there are full laundry facilities. Electric hob, oven and microwave are complemented by the microwave, electric coffee maker, toaster and kettle. The lodge has allocated parking across from the front door and patio area.
The small town of Ballater - many shops boasting Royal Warrants for supplies of provisions to the Royal Household - has many interesting features and is a short walk or drive from the Lodge. Ballater has all the necessary shops to provide all that we have ever required in our 25 years of coming to Craigendarroch (we continue to own another week at this resort as we love it so much). The City of Aberdeen is about 40 miles to the east and this gives access to airport, mainline rail and national coach services.
