Pestana Village Garden Resort is situated 2km from the centre of Funchal, the capital of Madeira. It is 19 kms from the International airport. The main language of Madeira is Portugese although English is widely understood and spoken. The currency is the Euro.

Pestana Village stands in 5 acres of landscaped sub  - tropical gardens. On site facilities include an outdoor pool with a separated area for children, also a health club with gym and sauna. There is a restaurant and pool bar on site. The complex is adjacent to the Miramar Garden Resort and all its facilities, including an indoor pool and two restaurants, are available to Village guests. The gardens provide a peaceful place to sit and sun  loungers are plentiful.

There is a small parade of shops including a supermarket, bakery/patisserie and newsagent very close by.

For those who wish to try the local cuisine there are numerous good places to eat within easy walking distance.

The complex is well served by buses to many parts of the island. Car hire is also available.

The Village is affiliated to RCI and carries an RCI Gold Award. There is much to see and do on the island ranging from whole or part day trips, walking, golf, water sports, dolphin and whale watching. There is also a casino.

The timeshare is on the first floor and there is a lift. It is a spacious two bedroom apartment which sleeps 6 with privacy for 4. There is a separate shower room and a bathroom en suite. There is a partial kitchen with fridge and microwave. The accommodation has two balconies, one leading from the main sitting room with views across the garden to the sea and the other at the side with garden views.

We have enjoyed 14 years ownership of the timeshare and by joining the RCI Points system it has enabled us to have holidays in a variety of locations as well as in Madeira. In addition by careful use of the system in some years we have enjoyed three weeks holidays. Sadly we are having to sell our weeks for health reasons.
