In the opposite direction, it is just a short hop to Benalmadena with its sea-life centre, the caves of Nerja. Alternatively, drive up into the Sierra Nevada mountains where you will find the beautiful village of Mijas, with its traditional Andalusian whitewashed walls, picturesque views, and famous Donkeys.
