Twenty-five years ago, having had quite a stressful year, we went to a travel agency asking for a package holiday somewhere where good weather is guaranteed and nothing to do. And the immediate recommendation was Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria. So, there we went.

Our hotel was rather awful, noisy, and basic, but it was ok for us. The mood there was down also because this was the week Princess Diana had her tragic accident in Paris.

Puerto Rico proved to be a nice resort though, and we noticed that Gran Canaria, after all, has a lot to do. We even started to talk about what it would be like to live in a place like this. One evening we were standing on a hilltop looking down to Amadores Beach. Underneath us was a half-ready complex. I suggested, how about there.

The next day was a bit cloudy, and we went for a walk. A timeshare representative intercepted us on the street. There was a prize draw, and we won a week's accommodation in a timeshare. We were in no hurry, so we were an easy catch and we agreed to go for a presentation. The lady wanted first to show us a new place that they were just building and so we took a taxi and drove directly to the building that I had pointed out the previous evening. Now, the game became serious. Still, the lady had to work hard to convince us to buy in. After several hours, we agreed.

Puerto Rico proved to be the right place for us. We returned there almost every year. Though sometimes we exchanged the week elsewhere through the RCI. The weather was always perfect. Even when Playa del Ingles, only twelve miles further, was windy and rainy, in Puerto Rico the sun was shining. Eventually, we bought two more weeks, which are for sale here also. Then, two years ago, we did move to the South, in Portugal. After so many happy holidays in Puerto Rico, we have plenty of sun even at home. So, we hope the people who buy this timeshare week enjoy this as much we did for so many years.
